NLCC ADVENTURE was launched on 17 January 2020 as an affiliate unit of the Navy League of Canada - Milton Branch, original sponsors of RCSCC CHAUDIERE, a Sea Cadet unit. The project was conceived by Lt(N) Paul Simas and Branch President Don D'Souza.
In March 2019, the current Commanding Officer of NLCC ADVENTURE, Lt(NL) Paul Simas, transferred to RCSCC CHAUDIERE after finishing command of RCSCC SCARBOROUGH. His first task as a member of RCSCC CHAUDIERE was to escort the Sea Cadets to the Halton Police Day in early April. The day was a beautiful sunny day and the weather was mild. This event attracted lots of children and that is when Lt(N) Simas came up with the idea of launching a Navy League Cadet unit to support RCSCC CHAUDIERE. He approached the Navy League of Canada Milton Branch President, Mr. Don D'Souza with the idea and both men started to work on the concept. After months of negotiations, the plan has finally come to fruition and NLCC ADVENTURE was launched on 17 January 2020 with an initial enrollment of 27 Cadets. Its first Coxswain is CPO2 Filipe Simas who transferred from NLCC COMPASS ROSE in Acton.
